Starter stays in on position for 2 seconds after it starts?

i have a 92 mustang 4 cyl. and just had the starter replaced , the car starts but the starter stayes engaged for 2 sec. then pulls back. i also replaced the starter solenoid, is it possible i got the wiring wrong on the solenoid? or could it be a bad starter?
