Are we... Americans... Sanctimoneous?

"Sanctimonious" I had to look it up to make sure I understood the meaning... IT is described in Websters as... 1. hypocritically pious or devout; a sanctimonious moralist... The key word in the definition is hypocritically. I listen to pious arguments about "freedom" and what we stand for in this country as if we control the argument in defining what we are, and what the world is to be. Are not all humans Free the second they are born, but enslaved by the system and yet the system has been high jacked to allow corporatist's or trans-nationalists to control the debate with their money. We scream "Freedom" and allow them to send our young men and women to die for what we perceive it to be and they control the debate as to whether it is right or wrong. Liberal or Conservative one has to believe that this is wrong. So as you listen to the Becks and Rush's, do you realize that they are the shills for those that subvert the debate in favor of the corporatist... Jefferson and other founders feared this would happen... Am I right? Are we sanctimonious?
