Injured fish - please help?

My male swordtail got himself stuck in a hole that was too small for him. I saw him in time to get him out but he's missing a lot of scales and I'm wondering if I can do anything for him. He is mostly hanging out at the top of the tank. I have a breeder net and was wondering if I should keep him in there so the other fish wouldn't bother him but I'm also wondering if that would stress him out even more. I added a little conditioner to the water since it said it helped with the slime coating for fish and helped with stress. Anything else I can do? What about the breeder net? Will he be able to replace the missing scales?
