Nasty scar from staph infection during a surgery. Would like feedback.?

Thought I might be able to get a scar from a previous surgery related to crohn's disease repaired but was told that the infection causing bacteria could lay dormant and that if reopened, the scar might become worse, infected again and/or take longer to heal than the last time especially since I am on anti immunity prescription. I seem to heal fine with other smaller cuts.The scar looks hideous. I mean it looks like I have a second belly on. I feel really self conscious about it. Not sure what to do. any suggestions?
