Is there going to be any new handheld systems coming out on 2009?

Yes, probably late 2009 is the rumored release date. It's the PSP 4000 with a new design. It's got a sliding screen that slides up to reveal various controls that are hidden beneath it when closed. So, it has to be in the open position to play full-featured games. It has no UMD drive to offload more bulk from the game system. So, instead of the disc drive the games will be sold through the online Playstation store or perhaps even on Sony Memory Sticks. So, after 2009 the PSP 4000 will be followed by the PSP 2 in 2011 or 2012.
