Married fileing jointly but my husband is in prison.?

My husband has been in prison since Aug 2010. I went to file my taxes and was told I can not have a rapid refund because a power of attorny will not allow me to sign for the bank but will allow me to sign for him for the IRS. And to get my taxes in 8 to 14 days I have to pay 250$ upfront. If I file sepertly then I owe money. Is there any way around this? I despertly need rapid refund but I can wait 8 days. I dont have the money to pay upfront.
